Updated: October 2026. This page explains what personal data this website handles, why, and what your rights are. The site is run by the fish taverna O Thalassinos (Ο Θαλασσινός), Irakleous & Lysikratous 32, Tzitzifies, Kallithea 176 74, Athens, Greece, telephone +30 210 9404 518, email info@othalassinos.com.
What we collect, and why
Reservation and event requests. When you send a request through this site, we receive the details you type: name, telephone number, email address, the date, time and number of guests you ask for, the occasion and any notes. We use them only to answer your request and to hold the table. They are sent to us by email and kept only as long as needed to handle the booking and any follow-up; we do not use them for marketing and we do not pass them to anyone else.
Phone calls and emails. If you call or email us, we use your details only to answer you.
Server logs. Like every website, ours is served by a hosting company whose servers keep technical logs (IP address, time, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting, for a limited period.
Cookies and analytics
The site works without cookies and, for now, without visitor statistics: no analytics script is loaded, no analytics cookie is set and no data is sent to Google. We do not show advertising and we do not sell data. If we start measuring how the site is used (with Google Analytics), it will run only after you accept it in a consent banner, and this page will say so.
Content from other companies
The home page shows our Google reviews through a widget by Trustindex, which loads only when you scroll to that section; at that moment your browser requests the reviews from Trustindex and Google, and those companies see your IP address. The map on the “getting here” page is a static image; the “directions” links open Google Maps or Apple Maps in your own browser or app, under those companies' terms. Links to Facebook, Instagram, TripAdvisor and the press lead to those websites.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you may ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Write to info@othalassinos.com. You may also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).
